We've been selected for the 2025 Village Trust Initiative Cohort!

We're one of five towns chosen across Vermont. This means we have major funding to get started and direct help from the Preservation Trust of Vermont. They'll help us become a nonprofit, apply for more grants, and open the building for the community.

Our Objective

The Town of Belvidere is buying the former Belvidere Central School. We're working on a lease so the Belvidere Community Trust can run it as a community hub. The Village Trust Initiative is helping us make this happen.

The building has a commercial kitchen, classrooms that can be used many ways, a cafeteria with 100+ seats, and a library with tall ceilings and lots of natural light. It's great for community meals, workshops, and local businesses.

🌲 Prime Location

The building sits next to land that will become Belvidere's town forest. This means we could offer both indoor and outdoor activities, nature programs, trail access, and community gardens.
